Not Such A Marshy Land
A series on nature and people of Bortir Bil, when there is almost no water there
Location: Bortir Bil, West Bengal, India
I tagged along some of my friends to a famous area called 'Bortir Bil', which is near Nilgunj between Barrackpore and Barasat, in West Bengal, India. The place is famous for its jute cultivation and the marshy lands filled with water during rainy season. However, we didn't find much of any water there. We were greeted by a beautiful dusk in a way that could not have been better. This is a project on the dusk at Bortir Bil marshlands and the jutes around there.
We also found some of the farmers and fishermen busy in their everyday chores. Here is a couple of unplanned photos of them.
